# How to undertake a system clean on your JX8 or JX10 machine

## Every 180 drinks your JURA machine will need a full system clean, which is an essential maintenance process

Your JURA machine warranty doesn't cover malfunction as a result of not following your machine's maintenance schedule.

The machine will prompt you when a system clean is required in your maintenance menu.  A red bar will advance and when it reaches the end, the icon will turn red at which time you must undertake the maintenance activity.

Your system clean will take around 20 minutes and the process can't be interrupted - so remember to start at a time that won't be too inconvenient for users.

Please note on a JX10 the user interface is slightly different as you have a touch screen, rather than buttons.  Access the maintenance menu by pressing the 'P' button and go to the blue maintenance menu.  Scroll along to clean.
