# JURA machine switches itself off

## Here we explain why your JURA machine might be switching itself off automatically

All JURA machines have a setting that will automatically switch off your machine after a period of inactivity.  The time can be adjusted within your machine settings.  We explain how to do this below.

The other reason your machine might switch itself off automatically is because it is showing an error message and requires an engineer visit.

When you switch the machine back on, if you see an error message on the screen then it switches off, please contact us via this [Support Form](https://support.amamus.coffee/knowledge/kb-tickets/new?hsLang=en) and raise a ticket.

To adjust your machines’s automatic switch off time, enter the programme menu.

On a touch screen model, press the ‘P’ button.  Then go into the green menu and scroll to page 1/18 and set your preferred switch-off time.

On a push button machine, press the black button and scroll along to the third page, select your preferred switch off time.
